Etymology

The human body is a chemical processing center. Everything you eat or drink is basically chemicals being input, processed, and used or excreted. These chemicals are delivered via the blood to the whole of your body except one place: the corneas. Blood vessels just outside the cornea "spit" nutrients onto the structures. Why no vessels in the cornea? Because then the whole world would be shades of purple.
