Etymology

The taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) is an Australian snake widely regarded as the most venomous land snake in the world. It has a unique venom combo -- protease enzymes mixed with Taipoxin. The average amount of venom delivered per strike is about 80x that required to kill a full grown man.
