Etymology

On maps of the world, Greenwich is a section of downtown London. Because of their naval superiority, the English were the ones who set up the lines of longitude that we use today on our world maps. As a result, they determined that zero-degrees on a map would run through their capital city. Today, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is also derived from this system.

Notes

Some good small hills and mounds and a few mushroom islands are about. A great level for beginners looking to try their hand at island hopping.

There aren't that many mountains, but there are some really interesting formations. I found some nice ravines and there are a few places where you can do some deep water exploration. The nether is nice, though you're going to have to build a great many bridges to get around.

My Review

Few seeds have captured my attention the way this one has. This is for several reasons. Firstly, there's a secret waterfall -- I love those! Secondly, this seed is balanced in such a way that a beginner could spend his or her time in the south of the map to their heart's content and never find themselves in trouble. However, more experienced players could find an epic challenge by venturing into the northwest mountain nightmare and rooting around until they find trouble. Finally, there are lots and lots of waterfalls, which makes the whole map quite scenic. A fantastic find.

Can't Miss

So, here's something that you need to see. This level has several crisscrossing ravine complexes, but there is one in particular: a triple ravine system that forms a U-shaped, underground complex full of gold at 227.17.272. It is absolutely worth taking the time to climb down to see.

My Review

This seed is all about the huge caverns that you can find peppered into the deep underground. They are equal parts breathtaking and full of bad guys. There are great villages and lots of flatland for those who like to build. The desert in between the two mountain ranges seems to be the place to make basecamp. I found an awesome double ravine with a cave system full of awesome features and lots of diamonds. A fantastic level for beginners with still enough to do to keep experienced players busy for a while.

What's crackin' people. I have finally fully recovered from the effects of Hurricane Sandy and now I am back up and running and I have a half dozen seeds for you and, frankly, one entry that isn't a seed so much as it is a broken husk of a map -- a shameful survival nightmare set against the backdrop of a tiny island in the middle of a lake in the middle of nowhere.

The seed "intemerata" (no quotes) was one of the best mega-forests I've found. Outside of the trees/wood/forests you won't find much of anything else, but it's a nice place to start for noobs. Etymology

It's my cousin's favorite number. I don't know why, but she's quite passionate about it. I suspect it's because it's a palindrome. My favorite number is an irrational number that can't be properly expressed here, but is so complex it requires two Greek letters (theta and omega) to represent it in scientific equations.

In case you were wondering, my favorite palindrome is "Was it a car or a cat I saw". Ha! Gets me every time.

My Review

While this seed failed to distinguish itself with a high score in any one area, it came in second today because across the board it scored well in almost every category. There was a little bit of everything -- as evidenced in the laundry list of landmarks and resource coordinates I found. This seed has a high amount of visible diamonds; I found nineteen without breaking a sweat. The northwest corner is covered with trees; so much so that they provide shade for day-walkers. There are a lot of amazing features like we used to get before the update. Your personal experience will depend entirely on where you spawn, but I still think this seed is good for beginners.
