Etymology

Pit vipers are actually a subfamily of viper snakes. Rattlesnakes are part of this group. The "pit" is an actual organ that rests between the eye and the nostril. It's job is to "see" infrared light.

This is a dirty archipelago with one really cool large island. There's a great x-shaped ravine thing that can take you straight to the good stuff -- assuming you can find your way down there.
