My Review

I know what you're thinking. It's the same thought that you get when you hear some idiot say that marijuana is a horrific drug that can kill you only to find out that it's a lie the government tells you because the dead guys who were in charge in 1937 were racist losers but the current politicians can't admit that they were wrong so they keep perpetuating the lie even though SCIENCE HAS PROVEN THEM WRONG! You're thinking, surely this can't be a seed that will actually make me want to end my own life.

I want you to read the words as they flow from my fingers: this seed will make you consider holding your breath until you have no more thoughts. I want you to seriously consider skipping this one to save yourself the coma.

Nether and The End

We just talked about this. Why are you still considering this seed. Fine. You want to hear it? I'll say it. This level has one of the best nether fortresses you'll ever see. There. You happy? No? You want more? Oh, you sick, sick puppy. Fine. The End is, frankly, as easy a path to the dragon as you could possibly ask for. There is no such thing as a better The End.

How dare you make me contradict myself. Now I'm kinda rooting for your coma.

How are you even going to get to these places? There are three trees on the one-and-only tiny frozen husk of an island. What sense does that make? Clearly, you're beyond reason. You'll have to make your own mistakes, but someday you'll apologize and I'm just gonna be like, "Look, I didn't play the thing. I'm okay."

My Review

This level is an icy cesspool. As far as the eye can see, the view is as white as the side of an egg. Most of the board has no trees and then all of a sudden, there's a forest so thick you can barely walk through it. There are ravines everywhere. One minute you're walking along looking at your map and the next you're plummeting through darkness to your doom. If there was one bright spot, it's in the southwest corner of the map where a hot spring has birthed a small patch of green. Play this one at your own risk.

My Review

If you happen to be looking at the home page of my blog and you see this post there, I can understand that and forgive you for looking upon this festering boil and -- in fact -- apologize for subjecting you to it. However, if you clicked on this thinking, "Gee, that looks kinda cool" or worse, bookmarked it, you are a diseased and leprous ogre. You are a troglodyte with the IQ of a dung beetle. You should reconsider your life's choices and if you have told others about this seed -- people who are now your former friends -- you should enter the witness protection program to save your own life.

My Review

Well, this seed is smokin' hot -- in more ways than one. First, I spawned next to a hole in the ground into which water was pouring. When I dropped down to investigate, I got the above photograph. So that was my start to this level. It got better. Tons of lava, lots of Y=12 action, and an extremely impressive stronghold combine to make this by far one of the best levels I've seen.

The stronghold is attached to a system of abandoned mineshafts. Together, it could easily take four to five hours to explore everything and map it all out. In addition, they're all attached to a ravine that by itself would have been a handful. All told, this is a fantastic level with some really sweet goodies.

The Nether

While I was here, I took a look at the nether. It's pretty good. I actually spawned on the very bottom bedrock and had to claw my way back up to the main area. But once I was there, the vast majority of the nether is open and easy to navigate.

My Review

There are some places in this world where people go to get away from it all. They load up their crap, fly down to a beach, and kick back for a week or so just to unwind. Then, there are some places in this world where people go when their plane crashes into the ocean and by some miracle they aren't pureed into mush. This is such a place. Searching the oceans of this vast wasteland will offer nothing but heartache and depression.

Map

There is something to be said for the huge flatland desert island in the northwest. There is very little to be said about ravines and caves because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't find any.

[TOP] This is a shot of the "Oil Rig" landmark -- so named because it resembles a deep-sea oil platform. Of course, you probably guessed that already. [Above] This was a really cool, super-thin land bridge that framed this tree nicely. Us photographers refer to this as "frame within a frame".

My Review

Curiosity is an ugly bandito. He comes to your house and slaps your mother around and then, when she can't take any more, he shampoos your father with the leftover grease from the deep fryer of a Mexican restaurant. Why, you ask? Exactly my point. Curiosity leads to more curiosity and then to horrific and dangerous things like the death of your beloved cat, Mr. Belvedere. My point is, you should not be curious about this seed -- or anything else for that matter. You should let this absurd, treeless bastard die in your mind and never revisit it. Ever!

This massive overhang/land bridge combo hides a dark crater within. This thing was absolutely swarming with bad guys. At right, the Riddler himself couldn't have constructed a more twisty tabletop overhang.

My Review

This is one of the better suicidal levels. Not because it's easier, mind you, but because it has some seriously imposing mountains and a higher-than-average number of really cool caves. I walked from corner to corner of this map (NE to SW), and it's all white. Even the pumpkins I found were albino. This was a seed name that was floating around the Internet; normally I refrain from reviewing already established seeds, but this was too challenging to leave to lesser blogs.

My Review

This is not a seed; this is a depressing frozen ice box that the Devil uses to store his frozen foods. Most of the caves are flooded and there are very few trees. You know that a seed is suicidal when, while backing up to take a photograph of a massive shaded land bridge full of creepers you are descended upon by creepers -- holding the Devil's fish sticks -- living in the massive shaded cave behind you, who want to know if you have a permit to film in this location. If you insist on seeing this carnage, the southeast corner has all the formations. Avoid.

The scar that rips through this rock formation is full of shadows and creepers. It's actually a series of land bridges that act as one umbrella above the terrain. You can find it at -249.78.349. At right, this is a less imposing but equally scenic overhang.

Etymology

This seed is part of the math-inspired seed series. The actual equation "e*i*pi=-1" failed me, so I re-branded it "cipie=-1" and came up with a much better seed. In mathematics, this famous equation was put together by a Swiss mathematician named Leonhard Euler. It links the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter (e), pi, and the square root of -1 (i).

My Review

FYI, I don't care about giving Euler credit in this equation; it's all about finding a good X-box Minecraft seed. And I did. This seed is a frosty no-man's land. Almost the entire map is a complete frozen waste except for the very far north of the map where a few intrepid sprigs of grass have taken hold. Trees are as easy to find on this level as luggage at an airport in Cameroon. Don't even consider trying this level if you haven't got a degree in terraforming.

This mountain was the last thing I found as I was unlocking the map. It almost seems to smile at you if you squint. At right, sister spires stretch upwards towering over this shady overhang. You can find them at 301.83.-283. There's one tiny tree in the background -- good to know since it's the only one for kilometers.

My Review

In the grand sport that is "Suicidal Minecraft", this seed has a real chance of making it into the hall of fame. The sixth worst seed I have ever found, this map is a flat, icy, barren disaster. If your mother told me she was an active member of the Nazi party, I would still not recommend this seed to her. You have to swim... everywhere. There is one island, due east, that is full of trees. If you quarantined yourself to this island you may have a chance to eek out a miserable existence. Leave the island and you'll find nothing but tears.
