Etymology

The word euclidian refers to a series of mathematical theories proposed by the Ancient Greek mathematician Euclid. I won't bore you with the details, but euclidian geometry is still in use to this day in every video game you will ever play that has a flat playing area. For instance -- Minecraft!

My Review

The northeast corner of this map is a really mountainous island that I think yall might like. There is an inspiring overhang/floater combo that looks like it could be a lot of fun to live on top of. Also, I found a lot of daywalkers lurking about -- some of whom can be seen in the photos below.

My Review

Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere! Theoretically, if you play the game long enough, the pumpkins will consume that entire south island. Beyond that, two really nice villages and some nice formations. The waterfall in the photo above was so beautiful, but equally lethal because it helps hide day-walkers spawning under the rock behind it.

Can't Miss

I found this humungous cavern just below the surface at 247.53.145. I will henceforth refer to it as "The Dark Theater". It's only a giant hole, so there isn't much to say about it, but it was really impressive standing in the middle of it and so I figured I'd mention it.

Map

The mountains in the center of the map are awesome and gnarly lookin'. The two villages are catty corner on the map (NW, SE).

Villages

  • [-250.65.-246] village, x15 buildings, guard tower, deep cave in middle of town, Y=12
  • [292.70.340] village, x10 buildings, blacksmith

Underground

  • [109.63.-327] medium cave, y=35
  • [-317.73.-98] small pitfall cave
  • [-259.13.-197] obsidian generator
  • [-257.12.-166] x6 diamonds
  • [89.42.-309] dungeon, x2 chests, saddle
  • [247.53.145] "The Dark Theater", massive overhang cavern, Y=31

Above Ground

  • [371.65.-267] large narrow ravine with lava fall
  • [236.67.-321] pumpkins
  • [120.72.-344] two pumpkin patches
  • [-277.71.31] x7 clay field
  • [-225.68.167] pumpkins
  • [-284.64.182] lava pit
  • [-260.73.388] small desert
  • [-44.76.214] heavy overhang, tall waterfall
  • [53.64.185] double land bridge, one small, one large
  • [41.73.304] medium sinkhole
  • [103.87.318] small land bridge in cliff
  • [114.100.351] sky-high pumpkins
  • [156.72.320] hidden lava pit
  • [217.65.323] small erosion with coal

Images

[TOP] This waterfall was absolutely killer. I mean that literally -- I died the first time I found it from angry skeletons whose arrows pierced first the water and then my flesh.

[ABOVE]This is a nice piece of shadow attached to what would normally have been an overhang save for this one rail-thin leg that's attached. I just want to hack it to pieces.

[ABOVE] This was hysterical. It's this perfectly formed town with no people in it. Where did the people go? Oh, well chances are they all fell into the massive hole in the middle of their town. This thing looks like a horror movie. I feel like an alien worm came up, ate all the citizens, then burrowed back down to hibernate.

My Review

This level is a beast! Absolutely gorgeous with plenty of scenic spots and so many floaters you'd think you were underwater. Without question, the highlight of all the landmark spots I found in this level is the massive floating island that looks like a battle cruiser from Star Wars just parked itself above the forest. This thing is so big that at night, even if you wall it all in, zombies will still spawn there if you don't put out some torches. Even though everyone should see this seed, it is definitely designed for experts. I found many wondering day-walkers and the forests are thick and mountains difficult to climb. This one is a challenge.

This map is clearly best of the day for a reason. While it didn't generate as many photographs as the runner up, don't be fooled... this level has some truly impressive features.

At top, this is the massive spaceship-like island that is floating in the middle of the board. I plan to build my summer home here. At right (top), you'll find a large overhang supported by two land bridges. Below that, I shall henceforth refer to this formation as The Tortoise. This thing is a massive flat-bottomed, shade-making behemoth that generates day-walkers in droves.

My Review

What a fantastically evil place. You'll notice that the Angelique Desert consumes the majority of the right side of the map; I would avoid this area... it's a bit dry. Mount Barnabas, on the other hand, is located in the southwest quadrant and is a lovely place to visit -- if you like day-walking skeletons. Quentin Bay in the north has some nice deep water if you'd like to take your own life and Carolyn Island, brooding all by itself in the northeast corner, is a great spot to set up your summer home -- if the wolves don't get you, that is.

I tried to narrow it down to just two shots, but I really liked all three so they're all here. First, a sweeping view of the desert encroaching on the rolling hills of the mainland. Below, this is a massive floater complete with single tree. You can find it (as you can see) at -306.73.201. At right, the sheer and stately cliffs of Mount Barnabas.
